Requirements for entry to Turkey

If you have a valid visa, you do not need a residence permit for up to 90 days to enter the country. Turkey allows entry to some European countries with national IDs. Click here to find out the nations.

For teams planning to come with their Boats and Coach Ribs, it is imperative that you prepare an ATA Carnet before starting your Travel to Turkiye. Due to the types of equipment and Custom Procedures, teams will need ATA Carnet to enter the Turkish Borders.

Arrival at the Airport

The 2026 ILCA Under-21 European Championship and Open Trophy will be held in the Bodrum district of Muğla.
There is an international airport in Bodrum, which is Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV). The distance between the club and the airport is 36 km.

If you have reserved for a transfer shuttle after landing at Milas-Bodrum International Airport, authorized persons will meet you. Then you will be assisted to the vehicles. For airport transfers, please contact us (info@bodrumsporyelken.org).
When the sailors and coaches from the airport are delivered to the hotel, event staff at the hotel will meet them and help them check-in. In the meantime, please prepare your passports for entry procedures.

For sailors and coaches, a shuttle service will provide a transfer between the hotel and the club after morning and afternoon races.

Venue Info

The B.B. Bodrum Sailing Club and the Turkish Sailing Federation are organisers of the 2026 ILCA Under-21 European Championships & Open Trophy. The main centre where the championship will take place is in the Icmeler district of Bodrum.

The club hosts many international and national events. In 2022, it hosted the Optimist World Championship. On the other hand, it has been organizing the Bodrum International Optimist Regatta (BIOR) for 14 years. Starting in 2025, it will also organize the Europacup in the ILCA class and holds championships for many classes at the national level every year.

The club offers many facilities, both physically and socially.

Physical Facilities

Sail and boat storage area: There is approximately 400 m² of sail and boat storage space. The area used for preparing for the sea and races. Also, the area is using measurement for international events.

Beach and pier: A pier and beach area for launching and retrieving boats for sailing and direct access to the sea.

Changing Rooms: The club has big changing rooms for men and women. Showers are available in the changing rooms and outdoor area.
Boat mooring and docking: The club has a mooring and port system for coach boats.

Throughout the season, Bodrum is one of the best places to visit in Turkey for sun-and-sea vacations. The destination is known for its historical buildings, whitewashed houses, unique nature and marina full of bobbing yachts.

B.B.Bodrumspor Sailing Club is close to the town centre and within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping. You can experience the restaurants in the centre of Bodrum and enjoy the beautiful dishes of unique Aegean cuisine. Also, visit many historical places such as Bodrum Castle and the Underwater Archaeology Museum.
